WETHERBY WHARFEDALE 41 CLUB
Minutes of AGM,
Held
at The Swan, Wighill.
1. Apologies
Doug, Stephen, Alan, Martin, Peter, David L.
Non apology, Bill who now owes the Treasurer the price of the meal.
2. Minutes of last 2 AGMs.
Taken as read, proposed by Neil, seconded William.
Result: Unanimous.
3. Matters arising.
Will Bill arrive late again for a second dinner?
Proposed by Bob, “that this meeting ring absent friends”. No seconder since we had no ringing devices big enough to go over our friends’ feet. Somewhere around here, grace was said by Uell.
4. Treasurer’s report and Annual Accounts.
Accounts, audited and accepted, unanimously. Uell had not paid his subs. Cries of “shame!” and “resign!” were suitably ignored and the offending member paid up.
“We planned to spend some of our surplus and we did!”, said Chris.
(There was no proposal for next year’s subs, since we might have voted ourselves out of existence in item 7, below.)

The Chairman proposed a sitting toast to absent friends and Bill.
7. The future of our club.
(For those not present, this was an excellent session. – Hon Sec)
Letters were read by the Chairman
Each attending 41er gave his tuppence-worth, in turn.
To sum up, generally.
Majority in favour of staying part of National, and at approximately £9 per head, not exactly expensive. A small minority advocated greater involvement in National, Regional and visiting local 41 clubs.
Honorary members were rejected by the majority for the regular meal meetings, but not for the other activities like bowling, karting, et al.
Minority suggestions were to ditch most of the officers, leave National, have Honoraries, etc, but the majorities were clear.
Proposal 7.1
That this Club meet on a regular, monthly basis, at a
place in Wetherby with a meal always included.
Proposed Chris, seconded Bob. Result: unanimous.
Proposal 7.2 (after some debate including for
Stephen’s Board meetings.)
That this Club meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month and that these dates are notified to members in advance. (So as to avoid confusion over 4th and last Tuesdays. – Hon Sec.)
Proposed Neil, seconded, David H. Result: unanimous.
